Tehran, Nov 11 – IA Neftegaz.RU. Ready original Iranian plan to export gas to Afghanistan.
This was announced by the head of the National Iranian gas company (NIGC) H. Montazer-Torbati.
He noted that the initial plan is ready, now continue diplomatic talks.
H. Montazer-Torbati added that gas export to Afghanistan will be carried out by private contractors, although the government has already provided all the necessary infrastructure for gas transportation.
Afghanistan is landlocked, and this is a problem for energy of the country.
The government is trying to expand economic activity by opening a new trade route, it passes through Iran to the Indian ocean.
But Iran’s energy resources are mostly available in the Western parts of Afghanistan, there can be guaranteed the security of the transmission infrastructure.
Earlier, Iran has increased production and exports of natural gas despite US sanctions.
About 1/10 of the production of Iran (more than 700 million m3
gas) is exported to Turkey and Iraq.
In Turkey, despite the plans for new fields, are confident that they will continue to import Iranian gas to meet
the growing demand for energy.
