These technologies will further be involved in the development of up to 450 million tonnes of oil in Yugra.
Moscow, 24 Okt – news Agency Neftegaz.RU.On the Ugra industrial investment forum “Gazpromneft – Technology partnerships” (formerly the Technology center Bazhen), the Department of subsoil use and natural resources Khanty-Mansi Autonomous area – Yugra and international oil and gas consulting company Beicip-Franlab has signed a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of enhanced oil recovery.
This was reported by the press service of Gazprom Neft.
The parties agreed on the joint development and implementation of scientific and technological programs for intensification of oil recovery at the fields of Ugra, including the use of chemical methods (chemical methods of enhanced oil recovery – HMUN).
The agreement will provide the basis for testing HMON on scientific and technological grounds: the partners intend to develop an organizational model for the creation of the first such landfill in Ugra.
The document also includes the launch of joint scientific and educational programs related to issues of enhanced oil recovery.

Full implementation of HMUN in Russia today is limited by high cost of materials and requires the development of mechanisms of economic incentives, including tax.

Their use can significantly increase the oil recovery factor that will lead to increased production rates and extension of profitable development time deposits in Yugra. In this direction is extremely important in complex cooperation in the oil, oil service companies and the state, and given the importance of the development of low-tonnage production of chemical and petrochemical products, and the involvement of the scientific community.”
